Want to lose twice as much weight?

A growing amount of research has shown that people who keep a food journal lose the most weight and keep it off the longest. 

  • Record every bite.  Small snacks really add up – like those crackers at your desk or glass of wine while making dinner.  Write down every bite and you’ll be more aware of what you’re putting into your mouth, and more likely to make it healthy!
  • Buddy System:  Whether you struggle with regular workouts or nutrition, it always helps to have a friend encouraging you!  Some VFC instructors even text each other throughout the day “remember to log your calories!”
  • Size Matters.  Recording your meals could help you pay more attention to serving sizes, second helpings and even condiments – sneaky ways that we eat extra calories.
  • Technology (might be) your friend. There are many ways to keep a food journal.  You can download an app for your phone, write it down in a VFC food and exercise journal, or even use our Online Meal Planning – it helps you make the right nutrition choices for your goals, and also tracks what you’re eating.
