Fit Tip: Shape Up For Spring

Are you looking to trim and tone for shorts season?
Having a strong lower body not only looks good, it also helps keep your knees, hips, and lower back healthy!  Show your lower 1/2 some love with this workout:

STEP-UPS
Warm up your legs and get your blood pumping just by stepping up and down!  Try varying the height of your bench or your speed.

SQUATS
Squats do it all: they work your glutes, hammies, quads, inner thighs and calf muscles!  Start with regular squats.  Once you’re comfortable and have correct form, try mixing it up with the BOSU, plies (toes out), jumping, or split squats!

DEADLIFT
The deadlift is another exercise that gives you a lot of bang for your buck; it works your glutes and hamstrings, quads and calves!  Begin with a press (as shown in video) or deadlift, later adding weights for more challenge.

BRIDGE
You’ll know exactly which area you’re working during this exercise!  Squeeze and tone your entire lower half with both feet on the floor.  Once mastered, try some fun variations such as 1-legged bridge, putting your feet on a ball or even on a BOSU!

**BONUS MOVE** Lunges!  Click here for details.
