PLAN AHEAD FOR SUCCESS
You’re exercising and eating healthy, trying to make good decisions. Then all of the sudden you’re holding a menu with all sorts of tempting treats! How can you enjoy a meal out while still working towards your goals? Try these tips:
- Get creative! Combine side dishes and appetizers to make a healthy meal for yourself.
- Share! One of the hardest parts of eating at a restaurant is the large portions. Ask a friend to share or ask the waiter to put 1/2 of your meal into a to-go box before bringing your food to the table. Plus you’ll have a free, delicious lunch for tomorrow!
- Soup is “souper” filling! Choose one with a vegetable-based broth filled with veggies, beans and grains (not a dairy-based, creamy soup).
- Just say “No!” Ask the waiter not to bring the free peanuts, breads, or tortilla chips & salsa. Once they’re on the table only a saint could abstain!
