IT’S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT:  Weight loss plateaus are very common.  Our bodies are resistant to change and sometimes plateaus can last several weeks.  And, losing weight becomes harder the closer you get to your ideal weight.  Not sure what your ideal weight is?  Click here.

HOW CAN YOU BEAT A WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAU?

  • If you’ve been repetitive with your workouts, now is the time to change things up!  Try a new class or machine.  Join a club or recreational sports team.  It’s gorgeous outside right now; try biking or hiking.
  • Try doing more!  Sure it was working for awhile, but your muscles get used to your workout.  So …try more reps and longer cardio, or heavier weights and intervals.
  • Eat differently.  Increase your protein intake, and write down what you’re eating.  Seeing the amount of quality foods that you can eat for the same calories as a tiny bit of junk food may help you make better choices.  Curb mindless eating by drinking water instead.
  • Don’t give up!  Losing weight is hard – if it were easy we’d all be walking around like movie stars!  Just keep your eye on the goal, and ask for help when you need it.  Our trainers are always here for you!
