5 NATURAL WAYS TO BOOST ENERGY

Spring may be just around the corner, but it still feels very much like winter!  If Cabin Fever is making you feel sluggish, try these easy tips to re-energize yourself!

 

1.  Lighten Your Mood… with Light!

Get outside every day, even if it’s just for a short walk in the morning or at lunchtime.  Soak up the sunshine, and instantly feel refreshed!  For tips on exercising outdoors in the winter, click here.

2.  Sweat!

Regular aerobic exercise is a known mood booster!  Try walking or running, the elliptical or a dance class.  Exercising with friends or outside will give you a double boost!

3.  Eat for Energy

Instead of reaching for carb-loaded comfort foods that just leave you sluggish and bloated, plan meals with protein, fiber and healthy fats.  Try unsalted almonds for a healthy snack between meals and consider fish oil supplements that are healthy for the heart and mood.

4.  Sleep Smart

Even when you’re feeling really tired, research has shown that forcing yourself to wake up at a normal time on the weekends can actually boost your mood and energy level!  Plus, this will give you plenty of time to make it to a Group Fitness Class!

5.  Pump Up Your Playlist
