Fit Tip: Don’t Drink Too Much

coffeeMonday Morning Fit Tip:
DRINK COFFEE!

Research has linked coffee with many health benefits:
Reduced risk of Type-2 Diabetes
Reduced risk of some cancers
Improved cardiovascular function

An ingredient found in coffee called chlorogenic acid (CGA) may also aid weight loss when paired with a healthy diet.

BUT DON’T DRINK TOO MUCH

However, when CGA is consumed in large amounts, it may actually worsen the side effects of a bad diet!  Side effects can include weight gain and pre-diabetic disorders such as increased glucose intolerance and insulin resistance.  Yikes!

THE BOTTOM LINE

Enjoy your favorite coffee in moderation,limiting yourself to <4 cups a day
(this includes decaf coffee, green coffee, and teas).  This gives you plenty of time to drink more water!
